Frequently Asked Questions
You will have lots of questions about what we do at Taekwondo Tribe. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions which may help you understand a bit more about taekwondo training in Suffolk.
What is taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a modern Korean martial art, developed in the 1950s, that has its roots in karate, su-back, and taekkyon. It is an Olympic sport and practiced by millions of people around the world who enjoy the fitness, flexibility and confidence it can bring.
Can beginners join?
Yes! Being great at taekwondo means you have to start somewhere, so why not start at the beginning?

Do you accept ITF practitioners?
Of course. Taekwondo may have 2 distinct styles (IFT and WT or Kukkiwon) but that does not mean we shut the door to others. Come along and add a WT syllabus to your TKD tool kit.

How much do you charge?
We always give you a taster class for free, then offer a 2-week unlimited trial to make sure you're fully ready to commit to TKD. We can discuss training options and fees once you get to this point so you get a full picture of the value you will get at Taekwondo Tribe.
How often do you train?
We train twice per week, Mondays and Thursdays at Westfield Primary Academy, Haverhill. We also offer additional competition training from time to time on weekends. We open 44 weeks of the year, closing 2 weeks at Christmas, 2 weeks over Easter, August and bank holidays.

I want a black belt. How long will it take?
We get asked this A LOT. In short, years. Take time to think about what you truly want from martial art training. If you want to become a good martial artist then the black belt will come; if you want a black belt, then the martial artist may never come.
